Courtney was a shining beacon of hope
In a school notorious for its unforgiving environment, Courtney was a shining beacon of hope. We were on the same Regents committee during our freshman year, and I vividly remember his infectious enthusiasm. Though we went on to pursue different majors and career paths, I saw his name on various school media outlets from time to time. While many deservedly have raved about his leadership and relentlessness, I was struck most by his sincerity, an unadulterated zeal for a positive social change.
It is an absolute tragedy to hear of his passing. He accomplished more in his twenty two years than many of us will do in our lifetimes. More importantly, his depth of character was remarkable and will be missed dearly. Courtney, it was an honor to have met and worked with you. Rest in peace.
